BARRE – Mary Elizabeth (Lauderdale) Hart, 63, died peacefully at her home on Saturday October 31, 2015 in the company of her loving family, following a rapidly progressing illness. Born in Washington, D.C. on June 14, 1952, she was the daughter of the late Walter Elliott Lauderdale IV and Rita Jeanne (Claybaugh) Lauderdale.

She was preceded in death, in July of 1995, by her husband of 14 years Roger P. Hart Junior. Mary leaves her two daughters, Susan J. Hart of Juneau, AK and Elizabeth M. Hart and partner Daniel Fayard of Barre; seven beautiful grandchildren, Cian Rogers Hart, Ayah, Nettle, and Rise Fraley Hart and Riley, Kayleb, and Jacob Fayard; stepmother Ruth E (Betty) Lauderdale of Rochester, NY; three brothers, W. Elliott Lauderdale V of Fairhope, AL, James C Lauderdale of Concord, NH and Robert A (Tony) Lauderdale of Denver, PA; her sister Jeanne E Dorn of Deming, NM and twin sister Susan Hill of Remsen, NY; two stepsisters, Sarah (Sally) Ott and Julie Lindsay; nieces and nephews; in-laws; coworkers and many friends.

Mary Hart worked at Leominster Hospital for over fifteen years as a Postpartum and Labor and Delivery nurse. She was previously employed in the Geriatric Medical Psychiatry unit at Clinton Hospital and prior to that time had worked as an Orthodontic Assistant for Central Massachusetts Orthodontic Associates. Mary treasured life and lived it to the fullest. She loved freely, without judgment and restraint. She was a loving and supportive mother and grandmother, a kind and adventurous friend, an optimistic and compassionate coworker and nurse, a dear sister and stepdaughter, an avid sports fan, and a remarkable inspiration to all whose lives she touched. Her radiating spirit will be forever loved and greatly missed.
