Iris N. "Nery" Hames Santiago

Iris N. "Nery" Hames Santiago, 55, of Webster, formerly of Worcester, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 4th, 2018 with her sister by her side. She is survived by her 6 children, Jose R. Perez, Arlene Perez, Gricel J. Perez, Antonio Casteleiro Jr, Jasmine Rivera, Alexander Rivera; her mother, Irene Rodriguez; four sisters; Carmen Ortiz, Carmen Santiago, Maribel Santiago, Zoraida Rodriguez; four brothers; Jose A. Ortiz, Luis Ortiz, Jose Ortiz, Angelo Santigo; 12 grandchildren whom she loved dearly. Iris was predeceased by her father Angel Santiago and her brother Wilfredo Ortiz.

Iris was born in Puerto Rico and spent much of her childhood in New York before settling in Worcester to start her family. She was an amazing mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend. Iris loved spending time with her family. She cherished "family adventures" where she was able to capture her favorite moments with her "photography skills." She had an unmatched love for animals especially cats and dogs. Iris was the most humble, selfless person. Anyone fortunate enough to meet Iris, immediately came to understand this quickly whether it was through her generous hospitality or sharing family outings with neighborhood children. Iris touched many lives and by loved by those who knew her. She will be greatly missed.

Calling Hours will be held on Wednesday November 14, 2018 from 9:00 – 11:00 am, followed by the funeral service at 11:00 am at the Graham, Putnam & Mahoney Funeral Parlors, 838 Main Street Worcester, MA; Committal will follow in Hope Cemetery.
