On Monday October 5th 2020, our loving brother Luis Raul Olivencia passed away suddenly at the age of 49. Luis was born on august 4, 1971 in Caguas Puerto Rico, to Lydia Hernandez Olivencia and Rafael Gonzalez Olivencia.
The family migrated to Worcester Massachusetts from Puerto Rico in 1978. He was raised in Worcester all his life and graduated from Burncoat High School in 1991. Luis was working as a recovery specialist at casa Esperanza in Boston MA. He loved to help others even while going through his own struggles. He was an active member in church and praised Jesus daily. He read the bible faithfully and would consult with Jesus during any obstacle he faced throughout his life. His favorite gospel song was “You know my name “by Tasha cobs. Luis was known for his happy personality, infectious smile and laugh. He brought laughter into the lives all he touched; he was a very funny person.
Luis was predeceased by his mother Lydia, his father Rafael, his brothers Andres, Rafael, Francisco, Edwin and his sisters Sandra and Angie. He is survived by his brothers Osvaldo, Rafael, Ruben, Santiago, and Manolo, his sisters Diana and Alicia, Millie, Maria, Lydia, Glorivee, Rebecca and Sonia, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Calling hours will be held on October 15th, 2020 at 9am-11am at Graham, Putnam and Mahoney Funeral Parlors. Funeral Service will be following the calling hours at 11am followed by a committal to Hope Cemetery. Due to Covid-19 social distancing regulations only 25 personnel at a time inside the funeral home and masks are required.
