She attended Mount Wachusett Community College in Gardner, Massachusetts with a degree as a Licensed Practical Nurse at a young age, while obtaining her Registered Nursing Degree in the early 1980's.
Receiving degrees in Nursing gave Barbara a great sense of accomplishment. She wore her pin and cap taking her job seriously. She spent many years working in the Maternity Ward at Health Alliance Leominster Hospital. She handled private duties and later in life worked at nursing homes.
